CDCE ( Center for Development and Civic Engagement)

The Military Order of the Purple Heart’s Volunteer Service Program (VAVS) has been renamed the Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE). The CDCE operates the largest volunteer program in the Federal Government, supplementing staff and resources in all areas of patient care and support. Volunteers supplement essential personnel, equipment, facilities, and programs for the direct and indirect care, treatment, and welfare of veteran patients. Military Order of the Purple Heart CDCE volunteers participate in the VA’s program and provide invaluable service to other veterans and their families. The official CDCE Handbook is under revision and will be available for download soon. The handbook will provide guidance to the Department and Chapter members involved in the CDCE Program through the VA. Additional information can be obtained by contacting your Local CDCE Director.
